JOB SUMMARY
The Low Voltage Assistant will assist experienced technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage systems, including but not limited to network cabling, access control, fire alarm, fiber optics, and security systems. This role involves tasks such as running wires, connecting equipment, and learning to read blueprints, while also providing support in troubleshooting and customer communication. This is an entry-level position designed to provide on-the-job training and develop the skills necessary to become a proficient low voltage technician.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist with the installation of low voltage systems, including running cables, terminating cables mounting equipment, and connecting wires.
· Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
· Develop knowledge of various low voltage systems and their components.
· Assist with troubleshooting and repairing low voltage systems under the supervision of a technician.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
· Participate in ongoing training and education to develop technical skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· At least 18 years of age or older
· At least one year of industry experience
· Ability to learn applicable installation, inspection, and servicing codes
· Ability to perform physical activities outlined in the accompanying physical requirements checklist.
· A strong work ethic and professional appearance.
· Good communication, and customer service skills
· Ability to fit in with our culture of teamwork.
· Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
