Job Summary:
The Fire Sprinkler Sales Representative will be responsible for the development of all new business in his or her assigned market area selling fire sprinkler systems. The scope of the position includes maintenance agreements and contracts, new equipment sales, and establishing future services.
The Sales Representative will call on existing and prospect accounts in the assigned market area using a needs analysis approach to identifying areas of potential growth. Sales calls will be a mix of in house generated leads as well as self-generated opportunities created by a proactive sales approach of identifying target markets and key accounts. The Sales Representative will capitalize on the leads by performing site and hazard surveys; surveys are designed to match the client’s needs to our products and services. This solution based selling strategy will require you to work closely with each department and their processes to include communication about pricing, customer relationships, filling out the appropriate departments survey and cost estimating forms and using the appropriate sales templates and disclaimers. The Sales Representative will be responsible for the entire sales process to include qualifying the customer, information gathering, rapport building, needs assessment, quoting (proposal writing), closing the sale and working with each department to convert the quote to Work/Tech orders.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement customer sales strategies necessary for efficient sales
Conducts site surveys to identify potential customers of a product/service
Interact with clients to identify their needs and product specifications
Offer clients products which are capable of meeting their requirements
Follow the correct quoting procedures to include filling out site survey forms
Collaborate with the Sales Director on key account strategies to include pricing
Develop and maintain cordial working relationship with customers to boost sales and increase clientele
Provide customers with the explanation of product/service features
Job Requirements :
2-3 years progressive fire sprinkler sales experience.
Previous exposure to sales methodologies, standards, disciplines and generation of contracts.
Possess sales data entry background and have experience calling new and current customers.
Personable, out-going, energetic, genuine, reliable, influencing, and memorable
Aptitude for technical knowledge with high level of attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of fire and life safety industry is a stong plus
Strong presentation skills complete with the ability to captivate in both individual and group communications
Selling "service" and intangibles
Demonstrated knowledge of each stage of the sales cycle and process
Prove-able sales results - acquisition, organic growth and retention
Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
